TDME boosts Cisco team

by Stuart Wilson, Friday 5 September 2008

Track Distribution Middle East (TDME) – the new incarnation of global giant Tech Data’s offloaded Middle East enterprise and components business – has boosted the strength of its Cisco sales team. TDME, a division of Aptec Holdings, has appointed a local account manager for Kuwait and promoted Peter D’souza to regional sales manager for North and South Gulf.

"We have seen substantial business growth (especially in the SME (small to medium enterprise) sector) in the Northern Gulf and felt it was time to expand and invest in the right people on the ground to help tap into this lucrative market segment," said Shailendra Sainani, deputy general manager at TDME. "We expect our Cisco business to double in the next year from this sector."

TDME is a strategic distributor for networking giant Cisco in the Middle East. The company plans to focus on tier two channel business reaching demand from the SME segments for Cisco kit. TDME will also hold local stocks to provide its tier two partners with ready inventory and immediate delivery.

TDME claims that its new appointments are in line with its objective of providing a team of highly experienced and dedicated product management experts, including pre-sales & sales for each of its technology sectors.

TDME assumed responsibility for key franchises and distribution agreements formerly held by Tech Data in the Middle East. TDME signed distribution agreements with major vendors including Cisco, Oracle, APC and WD and serves some 1,600 resellers across the Middle East. Headquartered in Dubai, TDME provides in-country services in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Egypt, the Levant and North Africa.
