Logicom adds Seagate in Bulgaria

by Stuart Wilson, Friday 5 September 2008

Logicom Bulgaria has announced a new distribution partnership with hard drive giant Seagate. Under the terms of the deal, which started September 2008, Logicom Bulgaria will distribute the full range of Seagate kit including hard drives for desktops, notebooks and server solutions as well as external storage products.

“Logicom is very happy to add Seagate to its portfolio. Seagate is the driver of innovative solutions for the storage industry and we are proud to distribute it in our market,” said Ivan Torlov, country manager at Logicom Bulgaria.

“Seagate’s products will help us penetrate deeper in the Bulgarian channel business and on the other hand, Seagate will undoubtedly benefit from Logicom’s professional approach that has helped the company become the vendor of choice for resellers across South East Europe, Middle East and the Gulf,” Torlov added.

Logicom, which hopes to grow its business with Bulgaria’s corporate dealer channel, will be responsible for logistics, stock availability, credit arrangements, channel marketing and relationship management with resellers.

Logicom, which is quoted on the Cyprus Stock Exchange, appointed two new board members last month with tha addition of Michalis Sarris and Giorgos Papaioannou. Logicom’s sales for the first half of 2008 climbed 26.2% to US$279.6m with after-tax profits up 29.4% at US$7.18m.

The Logicom group has a physical presence in more than a dozen countries, employs over 275 professionals and services more than 3,000 customers in 20 countries in Europe, the Middle East, the Gulf, North Africa and Asia.
