FVC briefing centre gets DIC seal of approval

FVC played host to Malek Sultan Al Malek, executive director at Dubai Internet City (DIC), at a ceremony to inaugurate the value-added distributors technology briefing centre located at DIC. The new centre will allow FVC to showcase solutions from the vendors it represents inculding Google, TippingPoint, Packeteer, Barracuda, Proxim, VegaStream, Nokia, Vasco and Packet Design.

FVC, which has a presence spanning the Middle East and North Africa, will also use its technology briefing centre to demonstrate Polycom’s RPX immersive tele-presence systems. FVC has also scheduled workshops for its partners at the centre and pre-scheduled TechCafes for each of the various vendors and technologies.

The centre forms part of FVC’s investment in resources to support its growing business. FVC sales climbed 60% year-on-year in 2007 and similar growth is expected in 2008. During the past year, FVC opened an office in Morocco increasing its direct presence to five countries in the MENA region. The company has also expanded its team with in-country technical, sales, administration, logistics and marketing resources in each office.

K.S. Parag, director at FVC, added: “We have been expanding our product portfolio to offer our channel partners and enterprise customers complete solutions from rich media to VoIP as well as networking and security.”

“This new centre will allow our partners and their customers to experience the complete range of solutions we now offer including the top of the range Polycom’s RPX Immersive Telepresence solutions,” Parag added.
