CGC scores Nokia hat-trick

by Stuart Wilson, Wednesday 25 June 2008

Qatar-based Concolidated Gulf Company (CGC) has picked up a best distributor award from mobile phone giant Nokia for the third year in a row. The award – for the Middle and Near East region – recognises the company’s ability to provide efficient and high quality services to the people of Qatar, according to CGC.

CGC emerged victorious from more than 50 Nokia distributors across the region including some big names from major markets such as the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan and Iran.

Anil Mahajan, business development head at CGC, said: ’We feel honoured and privileged to win the Best Nokia Distributor Award [for the] third time. It’s really a great moment for us, as winning successively is a big thing, especially when we outshined a large group of high-caliber competitors.”

“We thank our valued customers and business associates for their constant support. The success would not have been possible without the trust and confidence on our quality products and services. We congratulate our entire CGC-Nokia team and dealer partners, who have been working tirelessly to serve the people of Qatar,” Mahajan added.

CGC executives received the award from Nokia VP Chris Braam at a gala function in Vienna. CGC picked up the Best Nokia Distributor Awards for 2005 and 2006 during the annual partner conferences held in Morocco and Jordan respectively.

CGC has worked with Nokia for more than 15 years offering Nokia phones and accessories through a dozen of its own retail outlets and more than 300 dealer outlets across Qatar. CGC plans to increase its own number of retail outlets to 20 by the end of 2008.
