Silver Peak opens Mexico office

by Stuart Wilson, Friday 17 June 2011

WAN optimisation solutions outfit Silver Peak Systems has continued the expansion of its Latin American operation, opening a new office in Mexico City. The new office will serve as a platform for sales, support, and marketing initiatives throughout Mexico. In conjunction with the opening, Vicente Amozurrutia has joined Silver Peak as general manager of Mexico.

In this role, Amozurrutia will be responsible for growing Silver Peak’s business in Mexico through new customer acquisition and partner development. Amozurrutia brings over 20 years of industry experience to Silver Peak. Most recently, he served as general manager of Latin America and country manager in Mexico at Check Point Software, where he was responsible for sales, channel development, logistics and technical support for the company’s Mexican footprint. Prior to this role, Amozurrutia held similar management positions at leading networking and security vendors.

"Vicente has a long record of successfully building world class sales and support organizations throughout Latin America and the Caribbean," said Francisco Pinto, VP of Latin America and the Caribbean for Silver Peak. "By providing the highest-capacity and most-scalable WAN optimisation appliances on the market, Silver Peak is best-positioned to help customers throughout Mexico exceed their most demanding IT and networking requirements."

Silver Peak WAN optimisation appliances are available today from the company’s network of reseller partners and global resale partners including Hitachi Data Systems (HDS), Dell, and EMC.
