Fast-growing consumer technology brand Riversong has struck a distribution deal with Egypt-based General Commerce Company (GCC) to expand its channel reach into North Africa. Sameh Halaka, CEO at GCC, said: “GCC is keen to build a strong partner relationship with Riversong in order to bring the right product to the right place at the right time.”

Haitham Kalakeche, CEO at Riversong Technology, commented: “Now, it is time to take our North Africa business to another level. We are excited to announce that Riversong has partnered with GCC in Cairo Egypt to start off distribution in the region.”

“This is a great opportunity to bring Riversong on stream to a whole new audience and we believe the Egyptian market is going to respond very favourably. It will help us reach and better serve customer groups and audiences that are important to us,” he added.

"Our entry in Egypt marks the next step in our plans to grow our presence in the North Africa region. By taking the expansion route and further penetrating the market we aim to become one of the largest player in the consumer technology segment in the country," Kalakeche continued.

Riversong has also confirmed its participation at DISTREE Europe, Middle East & Africa (EMEA) 2020 – the region’s leading hosted buyer consumer technology, consumer electronics and IT channel event - which takes place in Monaco from February 18th to 21st. Riversong’s participation underlines its ongoing commitment to expansion of its routes-to-market across the region and its focus on win-win channel relationships.

Riversong is a technology-focused company based out of Shenzhen, China, with presence in Dubai, Hong Kong, South Africa, USA, Canada, India and Pakistan. It is a part of IMG Technology, which is a leading mobile phone manufacturer in Shenzhen, producing millions of smartphones and feature phones annually.
