The 16th annual DISTREE Europe, Middle East & Africa (EMEA), which takes place in Monaco from February 6-9th 2018, will include an extensive workshop programme for delegates. The group sessions are designed to bring vendor and channel executives up to speed on some of the latest trends and market developments influencing the consumer tech channel. Content partners at this year’s event include CONTEXT, EHA, Futuresource, Game Advisor, GfK, GTDC, HAX, Parks Associates, Quadmark, Red Dolphin and Regent.

Liam McSherry, Marketing Director for DISTREE Events, commented: “As an independent event, DISTREE EMEA remains committed to bringing in a wide variety of speakers from multiple analyst firms, research houses and consultancies. This allows delegates to stay up to speed on the latest channel trends, explore new business areas and benefit from accessing multiple perspectives on key topics during one event.”

All delegates attending DISTREE can register for workshop sessions, which are then included in their personal event agenda alongside the pre-scheduled one-on-one meetings between exhibitors and distributors. The full line-up of workshops and summits taking place at DISTREE EMEA 2018 is listed below:

1. What Channel Partners Need to Know about Start-ups

This session will explore new technology trends such as AI, voice recognition, IoT and smart home. Using a wealth of experience in channels and new technologies, this session will help distributors and retailers identify and then engage with the most promising consumer tech start-ups.

2. Futuresource: CE Category Winners and Losers to 2020

The consumer electronics (CE) market in Europe is forecast to improve over the next five years, with strong prospects for some ‘new tech’ categories as well as good news for some traditional categories such as TV and consumer PC. 4. GTDC: Distribution 2018 - A New Turning Point

Technology distributors have emerged in diverse central roles across all market segments, putting dynamic new services in place while diversifying and strengthening vendor partnerships. In this session Michael White, General Manager of Quadmark will assess current compensation models, highlight areas where they are not keeping pace, and propose new options.

6. Game Advisor: Games & Channel Opportunity

GfK evaluates current and upcoming trends for technology markets and analyses whether the prevalent mega trends offer long term revenue potential or if they are just hype.

8. CONTEXT VIP Session

This exclusive session will cover a range of topics including omnichannel strategies, the role of marketplaces, the changing role of retailers, evolution of distribution business models, the challenge of recruiting and retaining the right skillsets, and new technology opportunities such as smart home.
