HCL Infosystems confirms Apple rights in India

by Stuart Wilson, Wednesday 30 August 2017

Indian IT group HCL Infosystems has confirmed an agreement to distribute Apple products, including iPhones and other Apple products, in the Indian market. HCL Infosystems announced in July 2017 that it was in discussions with Apple regarding a distribution deal in India. Apple has existing distribution tie-ups with Ingram Micro, Redington, Rashi Peripherals and Beetel Teletech in India.

Digilife distribution and marketing services is a wholly-owned subsidiary of HCL Infosystems with a distribution operation spanning more than 640 districts across India. Digilife’s portfolio includes Microsoft, Nokia, Motorola and Lenovo.

Digilife claims to ship more than 50 million phones a year from 40-plus warehouses and supplies more than 80,000 retail outlets across India.

Major consumer tech distributors from India will attend this year’s DISTREE APAC regional channel event in Singapore in November, giving tech brands the opportunity to engage with senior executives from leading channel players from 20-plus countries in one place at one time. Indian distributors confirmed for the event already include Rashi Peripherals and Redington among others.

Channel APAC is an official Media Partner for regional technology and consumer electronics retail channel event DISTREE APAC taking place November 8-10th in Singapore. Vendors, distributors and retailers requiring more information about DISTREE APAC 2017 should contact quoting code DAP17.
