Bowers & Wilkins sets up Australian subsidiary

by Stuart Wilson, Friday 30 June 2017

UK-based audio brand Bowers & Wilkins is entering the Australian market. The company has set up a dedicated Australian subsidiary to start marketing and distributing its products from the start of August. Lars Hundborg, Bowers & Wilkins CEO for Asia Pacific, said: “Australia is a key strategic market for Bowers & Wilkins and so we determined that the best way to service the Australian consumer and support our existing dealers would be to establish direct operations in the country.”

“We intend to invest heavily in the region and look forward to introducing many new and exciting products to the market,” Hundborg added.

Convoy International had been operating as Bowers & Wilkins distributor in Australia. Convoy’s portfolio also includes JBL, Classe and Bluesound. Convoy International will continue to provide logistics and services to Bowers & Wilkins Australia.

Channel APAC is an official Media Partner for regional technology and consumer electronics retail channel event DISTREE APAC taking place November 8-10th in Singapore. Vendors, distributors and retailers requiring more information about DISTREE APAC 2017 should contact quoting code DAP17.
