Elgato teams with Axtro for APAC push

Distributor Axtro will showcase Elgato’s app-powered lifestyle accessories at DISTREE APAC, which takes place in Singapore from November 2-4th. The event provides a unique opportunity for tech brands to hold pre-scheduled meetings with senior executives from top retailers and e-tailers from across the APAC region. Toru Kawate, international sales manager at Elgato Systems, said: “Elgato is relatively new to the South East Asia region. We plan to expand our reach of Elgato products in the region through our participation at DISTREE APAC.”

Elgato aims to combine elegant software with innovative hardware, designed and developed by engineering and product teams in Germany and California. Elgato Gaming revolutionises content creation for the connected generation on YouTube and Twitch. Elgato products are available at major retailers in more than eighty countries. Elgato is privately held with headquarters in Munich, Germany. Elgato will showcase its Elgato Game Capture products and Elgato Eve smart home products at DISTREE APAC.

Kawate explained: “Elgato Game Capture products are a leading game capture board device for gamers who broadcast their gameplay at the likes of YouTube and Twitch. Elgato Eve products are leading HomeKit smart home devices.”

Elgato plans to build channels for Game Capture products throughout South East Asia. The company will initially focus on Singapore for the rollout of Elgato Eve in the region.

“Elgato Game Capture products are best sellers globally and we need to find many partners to sell to gamers in South East Asia who have been patiently waiting for our presence. Elgato Eve products are the leading HomeKit devices. With iOS10 and tvOS10, HomeKit is in a prime area, and the interest in the HomeKit devices from the public is very high,” added Kawate.

Kawate explained: “We work very closely with our channel partners in a range of areas from marketing to after-sales service. For example, our brick and mortar retailers would gain access to our merchandising team, which would provide training for store associates, as well as managing the visual merchandising of our products in their stores.”

Axtro will operate as a regional distributor for Elgato and the two companies will work together to build consumer channel reach through retailers and e-tailers across South East Asia.
