by Stuart Wilson, Monday 9 November 2015

The latest research from Parks Associates claims that 10% of Spanish broadband households own a smart watch, followed by 8% in the UK, 7% in Germany, and 6% in France. “Form factors such as the smartwatch are creating new opportunities for wearables in the connected home, with home controls and health applications near the top of the list for potential use cases,” said Stuart Sikes, president at Parks Associates.

Parks Associates’ Connected Consumer in Europe research showed that 10% of Western European broadband households plan to purchase a smartwatch within the next 12 months. Broadband households in Spain have the highest purchase intentions with 12%, followed by 10% in France and Germany and 9% in the UK.

Parks Associates will address innovations in wearable devices and connected health technologies at the tenth annual Connections Europe conference taking place in Amsterdam from 10-11 November, at the NH Grand Hotel Krasnapolsky. The Channel EMEA editorial team is attending this week’s conference. To request or set up an interview please contact
