Oracle promotes partner opportunities

by Stuart Wilson, Tuesday 22 April 2008

Business software giant Oracle has kick-started its 2008 Oracle PartnerNetwork (OPN) days with its first event of the year in Antalaya, Turkey. More than 1,000 attendees from Oracle partners in the European enlargement and CIS (EE-CIS) region showed up to find out more about how they could make the most of working with Oracle’s vast product portfolio.

Stein Surlien, VP, alliances and channels at Oracle EMEA, said: “Partners are looking for opportunities to drive more and better results through partnership with Oracle. We are here to help them achieve their goals and outline in a clear and real way how they can work with Oracle to become, ultimately, more profitable.”

As well as showcasing opportunities for closer collaboration with Oracle, the PartnerNetwork day also allowed channel partners to network with their peers and establish relationships with complementary software vendors also attending the event.

”A primary aim of the OPN day is to encourage the free flow of ideas on how to create more business with Oracle,” commented Alfonso Di Ianni, senior VP, Oracle EE-CIS region. “Oracle’s extensive product portfolio is in great demand by customers in the EE-CIS region. Our partner community therefore, can take advantage of the tremendous opportunities Oracle offers in this region, to provide the best solutions on the market."

OPN days provide a forum for partners to discuss, directly with Oracle, the issues they face in some of the world’s fastest moving technology markets. Record attendances in recent times reflect partner demand for information about Oracle’s strategy and advice on how to incorporate new Oracle solutions into their businesses, according to the vendor.

Atilla Kiral, VP and country managing director at Oracle Turkey, added: "Partnering with Oracle can increase revenue, market share, expand business and lower costs. The OPN day event is great forum for our partners to learn more about how they can effectively work with us to drive business opportunities. In Turkey and right across the globe, Oracle is continuing to demonstrate strong commitment to partners and we are proud to be hosting an event that recognises the huge importance of our partner community."

Aydin Ersöz, chairman at Innova, an Oracle partner in Turkey, said: "The Oracle PartnerNetwork is globally recognised as one of the world’s leading partner programmes and this event is a testament to that. We find Oracle PartnerNetwork Days extremely worthwhile in that they are geared up to help partners achieve success and deliver best practice advice on how to use resources available through the OPN to improve our business."

Further OPN days are planned in the autumn in Germany, the Nordics, Spain, the UA and UAE.
