Kerio makes Moscow move

by Stuart Wilson, Thursday 17 April 2008

Internet security and messaging software vendor Kerio has opened an office in Moscow to support its rapid sales growth in Russia. The new office will service Kerio’s reseller and distribution community, which provide the channel to market for the vendor’s messaging and firewall solutions aimed at the SME market.

"Partnering with Kerio makes it easy to provide the best solutions for messaging, groupware functionality and Internet security," said Felix Moochnik, CEO at Softkey, a Moscow-based software distributor of Kerio in Russia. "This new location will provide resellers direct access to technical support, product updates, and trainings. Now, we will be able to implement and deliver our combined offerings much more quickly, with better customer service."

"The office opening represents the depth of our commitment to the Russian market for our Kerio MailServer and Kerio WinRoute Firewall product lines," said Scott Schreiman, CEO at Kerio. "We are dedicated to providing the highest quality products with the latest innovations to our partners and customers, and we hope to make it effortless for one of our largest markets."

The new office will provide Russian language technical support from 8am until 5pm five days a week as well as running technical training and channel marketing activities for reseller partners across Russia. Kerio’s Russian branch will launch with three full time employees with plans to recruit additional sales and staff support during 2008.

Miroslav Kren, director of sales for Central and Eastern Europe at Kerio, will take the helm at the new Russian office. "During the past four years, we grew our Russian channel revenues 17 times," said Kren. "We are investing in our talented Russian team, and in the channel to meet the rising demand for flexible firewall and e-mail server solutions in this country."
