Top Layer targets Middle East channel

by Stuart Wilson, Tuesday 18 March 2008

Intrusion prevention solutions supplier Top Layer Networks has reiterated its commitment to the Middle East market, and announced its intention to expand its presence through the addition of new channel partners in the region.

During the last week – alongside a number of its existing Middle East partners – Top Layer has hosted security seminars in the UAE, Saudi Arabia and Kuwait.

According to the vendor the Middle East marketplace, particularly areas such as Dubai and Kuwait, has undergone a tremendous transition, both in terms of economic growth and technology adoption. Top Layer believes that these regions are increasingly investing in infrastructure protection, which has led to an increased adoption of network security solutions.

“We have seen a great need in our region for strong network security in recent months,” said Lee Reynolds, marketing director at Top Layer distributor Computer Links. “We look forward to working with Top Layer and their breakthrough intrusion prevention solutions to provide our customers with the protection they need against today’s sophisticated and fast-changing cyber threats.”

Top Layer is still looking to recruit new partners in the Middle East as new businesses develop and require protection against the latest cyber attacks. Husam Adnan Al Saraf, business development manager with Top Layer, is responsible for building relationships and trust with key resellers in the region to work with Top Layer and its family of IPS appliances as their preferred partners.

“The Middle East region is eager to acquire security knowledge and technologies that can better protect its new economic growth,” said Mike Paquette, chief strategy officer at Top Layer. “Attracting partners such as Integralis, Didata, Futuretec, INC, Security Matterz, iTs2 and more demonstrates our product technology acceptance amongst their customers. Hosting the security seminar reinforces our commitment to our reseller partners and customers, and our dedication to the Middle East market.”

Top Layer’s educational tour was targeted at both end-users and partners. The session focused on what the next generation of network threats are, and how to protect against these attacks. Participants learned how to proactively protect their network from common threats including malicious content, undesired access, and botnet-based attacks using the latest network intrusion prevention system technology.
