GAMDIAS enters fast-growing gaming chair segment

Gaming brand GAMDIAS has unveiled new gaming peripherals and announced its entry into the fast-growing gaming chair category. GAMDIAS will sell game chairs under the Achilles brand with two models: P1 and M1. The Achilles P1 and M1 both have two designs each, five colours and are available in small and large sizes. Navdy hits channel accelerator with CMS, Core and Lionfish

Navdy, the company behind an augmented driving device for the car that lets users look forward while staying connected, is ramping up its global channel reach and signing up distributors across EMEA and further afield. Navdy has appointed CMS as a distributor for the UK, Netherlands and Nordics, with Lionfish on board in the Gulf region, and Core Group signed up in South Africa. Monster and Brightstar sign global deal

Headphone and speakers brand Monster has announced a partnership with Brightstar. The deal will see Brightstar become a worldwide purveyor of Monster’s line of audio products and mobile accessories. The collaboration will create a powerful new worldwide network for bringing the highest performance audio and power products to end-user consumers across 55 countries on six continents. HMD Global is new home of Nokia phones

Nokia has confirmed that the strategic agreement covering branding rights and intellectual property licensing with HMD Global Oy (HMD), originally announced on May 18, 2016 has come into force. HMD has today announced the completion of transactions between HMD, FIH Mobile Limited (a subsidiary of Hon Hai Precision Industries trading as Foxconn Technology Group) and Microsoft, which means that HMD can begin operations as the new home of Nokia phones, under an exclusive global brand licence for the next ten years, excluding Japan. HNA Group completes Ingram Micro acquisition

Ingram Micro and HNA Group today announced that they have completed the previously announced transaction, under which Tianjin Tianhai, a publicly-traded subsidiary of HNA Group, acquired Ingram Micro for US$38.90 per share in an all-cash transaction with an equity value of approximately US$6 billion. "The closing of this transaction represents a significant milestone on Ingram Micro’s path to growing our business and providing a full spectrum of global technology and supply chain services to businesses around the world," said Alain Monié, CEO of Ingram Micro. APAC consumer channel hungry for new brands

The fourth annual DISTREE Asia-Pacific (APAC) consumer tech channel event takes place in Singapore from the 2-4th November. In the run-up to this year’s event, DISTREE APAC conducted a survey of distributors and retailers across the region during October. Connected appliance shipments to soar

The numbercrunchers at Juniper Research reckon that connected home appliance shipments will hit 202 million per annum globally by 2021, rising from just 17 million in 2016. Juniper claims that with the additional cost of including basic connectivity now less than US$10, hardware manufacturers will increasingly introduce the functionality into many mass market as well as high-end items including fridges, ovens and washing machines. Actxa named partner for Singapore fitness programme

Fitness wearables brand Actxa has been appointed as one of the official technology partners of the second National Steps Challenge (NSC) by the Singapore Health Promotion Board (HPB). Fuelled by the nation’s positive response to the physical activity initiative last year, the fitness wearables company has launched three new step tracker models alongside an easy trade-up programme, to help Singapore step up and out for NSC Season 2.
