SonicWall signs LinkQuest in Pakistan

Security solutions provider SonicWall has re-entered the Pakistan market through a tie-up with in-country distributor LinkQuest. As an authorised distributor LinkQuest will offer SonicWall’s security products and solutions to its channel partners and customers. Shahnawaz Sheikh, sales and channel director for SonicWall META & CEE, said: "Pakistan has always been a key market for us, but unfortunately during our acquisition period with Dell, we had to realign certain territories and had to let Pakistan go to APAC region. Now, as we emerge out of Dell merger, we took a conscious decision to bring Pakistan back to Middle East region and support it from Dubai.” Read full story

Fox-IT and Ingram Micro sign deal in Asia

Fox-IT and Ingram Micro Asia have announced a partnership agreement which will see them work together with the aim of making the Asian market digitally safer. The partner agreement allows Ingram Micro Asia to deliver the high certified security levels to its customers through the one-way network connection of the Fox DataDiode, preventing unwanted access to corporate networks and critical systems, without impeding the free flow of information. Redington unveils new brand identity

Distributor Redington has whipped the covers off its new global brand identity including a new logo and tagline. The distributor has significant presence in India, South Asia, Middle East, Turkey and Africa with sales running at approximately US$6 billion per annum. Established in Chennai in 1993, Redington’s new tagline is ‘Seamless Partnerships’. With a strong network of 37,500 partners, Redington currently distributes more than 200 brands across 24 markets. Distributors boost two-way market data flow

Distribution, while well placed to provide vendor information to channels, is increasingly offering market insights back to vendors, according to the latest research from the Global Technology Distribution Council (GTDC). The research looks at what vendors think about distribution’s new emerging roles, which includes expanded services going forward. Vendors also mentioned they would like to see a program for increasing trust and partnership between the various channel tiers. Read full story

Rashi Peripherals aims to maintain 25% CAGR in 2018

Fast-growing Indian distributor Rashi Peripherals remains upbeat about the market’s growth potential in the years ahead. Among the top five distribution companies in India, Rashi Peripherals currently employs over 750 people across 50 locations pan-India, with sales currently standing at approximately US$600m per annum. In an exclusive interview at the recent DISTREE APAC channel event in Singapore, Rajesh Goenka, VP sales and marketing at Rashi Peripherals, said: “We aim to maintain a CAGR of 25% in fiscal year 2018 as the Indian market continues to develop." Acer hits highest profit in 27 quarters

Tech vendor Acer has announced that its after-tax profits for the third quarter of 2017 hit their highest level in 27 quarters. Acer posted sales of NT$60.58 billion (US$2.01 billion) for the quarter – up 13% sequentially and 3.4% year-on-year. After tax profits hit NT$1.45 billion (US$48.2m) – up more than fivefold year-on-year. Acer claimed that the results demonstrated the company’s strong business momentum, stabilising operations and renewed profitability. Read full story
