Giussani takes charge at SED Colombia

Haines takes on expanded role at Tripp Lite

IT infrastructure products vendor Tripp Lite has announced the appointment of Darwin Haines as its new senior VP of international business. Haines joined Tripp Lite in 2008 as VP of international business development. After successfully establishing the brand in the Russia & CIS market, he was promoted to VP of sales for EMEA and Asia. After success in these regions, he will now take on management responsibility of all Tripp Lite’s international sales territories, which also include Mexico, Latin America and Canada. Mobile LTE connections to soar in Latin America

LTE connections in Latin America reached 11.76 million in 2014, according to a report published by Dataxis. This figure will have increased dramatically by 2018, reaching 187.8 million connections, according to the research firm. Data includes combined LTE connections in the region’s seven largest markets: Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Mexico, Peru and Venezuela. Read full story

Huntkey targets Chile through PC Factory

Chinese brand Huntkey has boosted sales in Chile through a tie-up with in-country retailer PC Factory. Huntkey has worked with PC Factory to boost sales of its universal notebook adapters in the Chilean market. Huntkey claims that Chile’s population of 16 million people, coupled with the benefit of importing products duty free, has created an attractive national market for its products. Read full story

Brazil-based antivirus solution vendor PSafe has raised US$30m to fund its planned international expansion across Latin America. Established in 2010, PSafe is focused on providing antivirus solutions for Android smartphones and devices.
