Wexler to launch Terra tablets range

E-reader and tablet brand Wexler will launch new products based on the Nividia Tegra 4 quad core processor. The ‘Wexler.Terra’ tablets will consist of a 7” and 10” model. Wexler, which claims that more than one million customers now use its products, is a confirmed vendor for next week’s DISTREE Russia & CIS event in St. Petersburg, Russia. Read full story

Russian distribution giant Marvel is one of hundreds of leading ICT and consumer electronics (CE) channel companies confirmed for DISTREE Russia & CIS later this month. PocketBook pushes premium brand credentials

When it comes to e-readers and tablets, PocketBook has pledged to position itself as a premium brand in the Russia & CIS market. The company already has a strong image in the e-reading space and now has 10 tablet models under development as it looks to make its mark in this fast-growing category. Evgeniy Militsa, managing director at PocketBook Russia claims that the company will sell a minimum of 800,000 devices in 2013. Read full story

Wilk to showcase Toshiba flash offering

Wilk Elektronik will look to boost regional routes-to-market for Toshiba memory products through its participation at DISTREE Russia & CIS later this month. Wilk will use the event, which gathers senior channel buyers from across the region, to emphasise Toshiba’s leadership position in the world’s flash memory market. Merlion strikes Schneider deal

Russian distribution giant Merlion has extended its product portfolio through an agreement with Schneider Electric. The deal will see Merlion carry a variety of Schneider Electric cable management products including the Optiline 45, Ultra and Performa ranges in Russia. Merlion will also offer a range of technical and education services related to the products, underlining the company’s growing VAD credentials in the Russian market. Read full story

Ukrainian IT market value climbs in 2012

The value of the Ukrainian IT market grew 2.9% in 2012 to hit US$1.88 billion, according to research house PMR. The market was buoyant in the first half of 2012, but stagnated in the second half of the year due to macroeconomic factors. Expectations of a devaluation of the Ukrainian currency also resulted in some companies postponing planned IT investments. Read full story

Silverado extends retail network in Belarus

Technology retailer Silverado has extended its store network, opening a new outlet in Brest, Belarus. The new store, which opened its doors earlier this month, is located in the Gallery Grand shopping centre and will open from 9am to 9pm every day. Silverado operates stores in multiple cities across Belarus including in Minsk, Gomel, Mogilev, Bobruysk, Polotsk, Novopolotsk, Soligorsk, Baranovichi, Pinsk, and now in Brest. Read full story
