Treolan expands portfolio

Russian distributor Treolan has announced a tie-up with hardware vendor Dell to extend the vendor’s in-country channel reach. Treolan will stock a range of Dell products including servers and notebooks. Merlion adds Polaroid products

Russian distribution giant Merlion has expanded its product line-up adding Polaroid photo accessories to its portfolio. Polaroid offers a range of products including filters that are comparable to well-known brands such as Hoya and Kenko, according to Merlion. In addition to Polaroid filters, Merlion also plans to add accessories such as batteries, battery packs, lens hoods, chargers, lens caps, remote controls, lenses, cleaning products, flashes and tripods. Elko signs PocketBook in Ukraine

Distributor Elko Group has signed a deal to push PocketBook’s e-readers, tablet PCs and accessories to its channel customers in the Ukraine. Elko, which has operations in the Baltics, Eastern Europe, CIS and Russia, will distribute PocketBook’s full portfolio in the Ukraine. Elko reckons that PocketBook products have a strong reputation in the CIS region. The vendor is also among the world’s top five manufacturers of e-readers. Read full story

Elko adds OCZ rights

Distributor Elko has added OCZ’s solid state drives (SSDs) and power supply units (PSUs) to its portfolio. The distribution deal struck by the two companies covers Russia, the Baltic States, Slovenia, Slovakia and the Ukraine. The deal increases the range of SSDs available to Elko’s reseller base, which the distributor claims will allow them to react to market demand and satisfy customers. Read full story

M.video reports strong sales

Russian ICT and consumer electronics (CE) retailer M.video has reported first quarter 2012 sales up 31% year-on-year at US$1.32 billion. M.video opened seven new stores in the first quarter of 2012, expanding its presence into three new cities. The expansion means that M.video now operates 267 stores in 118 cities across Russia with 492,000 square metres of selling space. M.video’s like-for-like sales were up 18.8% year-on-year. Elko signs TP-Link distribution deal

Latvia-based emerging markets distributor Elko Group has added networking vendor TP-Link to its product portfolio. The two companies have struck a deal that will see Elko distribute TP-Link networking kit across Russia, Ukraine and the Baltic States. TP-Link’s product range includes routers, switches, IP cameras, powerline adapters, print servers, media converters and network adapters. Read full story

Elko adds HP rights in Ukraine

Emerging markets distributor Elko Group has picked up new HP product rights in the Ukraine. Elko has concluded a distribution agreement to carry HP’s range of notebooks, desktops, monitors and accessories in the Ukrainian market. Elko reckons that the deal with HP will serve to strengthen its position in the Ukrainian distribution channel. Read full story
