MTI tunes in for TCL distribution

Ukrainian distributor MTI has added TCL to its vendor portfolio. The distribution deal will see MTI push TCL’s LCD and LED TVs through its Ukrainian channel partners. MTI claims that the addition of TCL has expanded its choice of affordable TVs – a segment that is witnessing strong demand from Ukrainian consumers. Read full story

Elko adds Kingston rights in Russia

Distributor Elko has added components vendor Kingston to its Russian portfolio. Under the terms of the agreement Elko will push Kingston’s memory modules to its channel customer base across Russia. Elko hopes that the deal will position it to provide more integrated solutions for customers looking to use Kingston memory modules for Intel servers. Read full story

McAfee signs Asbis for Russia & CIS

Security solutions vendor McAfee has struck a distribution deal with Asbis in an attempt to crack the fast-growing Russia & CIS retail channel. McAfee hopes that Asbis will develop routes-to-market through the leading retailers in Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Georgia, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan. Read full story

MTI adds Whitenergy

Ukrainian distributor MTI had strengthened its vendor portfolio, adding Whitenergy universal power units and laptop batteries to its offering. MTI signed the distribution agreement with Poland-based Enan, which supplies products under the Whitenergy brand. MTI will hold exclusive Whitenergy distribution rights in the Ukraine. Laser printer sales climb in Russia

The latest data from research house Context shows a 9% year-on-year increase in Russian all-in-one laser printer shipments in the first quarter of 2012. The growth in all-in-one laser printer shipments occurred against a backdrop of printing device shipments across all product categories falling 6% year-on-year for the same period. Read full story

MTI adds Amacrox brand in Ukraine

Ukrainian distributor MTI has extended its cooperation with FSP adding the vendor’s Amacrox universal power units to its product portfolio. MTI will also supply external batteries and car chargers sold under the Amacrox brand. The Amacrox brand was established eight years ago by FSP. The company has now clearly divided its brand names with FSP focused on components and Amacrox centred on power solutions for mobile devices. Read full story

GfK reveals monitor trends in Russia & CIS

Notebooks and TVs are making their mark in the Russia and CIS market, putting pressure on the standard monitor market. The rise in sales of both notebooks and TVs with monitor functions and web-enabled features led to a 25% year-on-year decline in monitor unit sales in Russia in April 2012. The market also dropped 30% in value terms according to GfK, with the average monitor sales price declining 5% year-on-year to US$190. Read full story

Russia increases printer shipment share

The latest data from channel tracking experts CONTEXT has revealed that Russia accounted for 51% of printer shipments into the Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) region in the first quarter of 2012. CONTEXT includes Russia within this region and the country’s share of shipments in CEE is now 3 percentage points higher than it was in the same period a year ago. Read full story
