Offtec awarded G Data rights in Sudan

Security Triggers, the Middle East & Africa (MEA) master distributor for G Data security software, has appointed Offtec Engineering Services as a distribution partner in Sudan. Offtec will carry the entire portfolio of G Data products. Finlux TV brand enters Kenya with Jumia

TV brand Finlux has entered the Kenyan market through a tie-up with online marketplace and e-tailer Jumia. The Finlux TV brand is part of Vestel – the third largest TV manufacturer in the world and largest in Europe, according to the company. Finlux TVs are being sold on Jumia’s Kenya site with the products quality checked, stocked and shipped by Jumia. Read full story

Headlinks adds Elari rights in MEA region

Distributor Headlinks has added Elari to its portfolio and will push the vendor’s products in the Middle East and Africa (MEA) region. Elari’s innovative consumer technology portfolio includes the Cardphone, a super-slim credit card sized anti-smartphone weighing only 42g that can operate as a standalone mobile phone or sychronise with a smartphone. PC World Kenya reveals merger plan

Kenya-based retailer and reseller PC World plans to merge its operations with a group of local investors who have a range of interests in various business sectors. The identity of the investors and the structure of the deal has not been disclosed. Bobby Gadhia, CEO at PC World Kenya, told Channel EMEA: “This merger will see our company grow to the next level and maximise the full potential the market has to offer. After the merger we will have 12 retail outlets spread across the country and a workforce of approximately 100 people, so 2016 is a big year for us.” Read full story

Aptec adds Acronis rights in MEA

Middle East and Africa distributor Aptec, which is part of Ingram Micro, has signed a distribution deal with Acronis, a global leader in hybrid cloud data protection solutions for physical, virtual, and cloud environments. With this agreement, Ingram Micro is now authorised to distribute Acronis to channel partners in United Arab Emirates, Oman, Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar, Yemen, Egypt, Libya, Lebanon, Jordan, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, and South Africa. Intel starts retail tour in Nigeria

Technology giant Intel believes there is still significant untapped PC market potential in Nigeria. The company has embarked on the Intel retail tour and launched in-store promotions in both Benin and Ibadan. Intel also has teamed up with partners Microsoft, HP, Lenovo, Acer and Tecno to organise training sessions for retailers and resellers, advising them on the right way to buy and sell devices, as well as the incentives available to them.
