Dell EMC appoints Mitsumi as African distributor

Mitsumi Distribution has been appointed by Dell EMC Middle East as an authorised distributor for the Africa region. Mitsumi claims that the move demonstrates Dell EMC’s confidence in the distributor to grow the brand across the region. Ingram Micro adds GFI Software rights in MEA

Distributor Ingram Micro has signed a Middle East and Africa (MEA) distribution deal with secutity and communications software provider GFI Software. Building on its existing relationship with GFI Software in Turkey and Australia, this new agreement will allow Ingram Micro to distribute GFI’s complete range of IT solutions to channel partners in 17 additional countries, including Afghanistan, Algeria, Bahrain, Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, Libya, Kuwait, Morocco, Oman, Pakistan, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Tunisia, UAE and Yemen. Tech retailers, e-tailers and marketplaces from 20-plus countries confirmed for DISTREE Middle East

Garmin expands African reach with MTN Nigeria

Fitness tech brand Garmin has teamed up with MTN Nigeria partner to introduce a range of health and fitness devices in-country. “Building off of our partnership and recent launch with MTN Ghana, we are excited to extend our footprint in Africa and partner with the leading telecommunications provider to bring these innovative solutions into Nigeria where we have seen an increasing interest and adoption of healthy lifestyles by many people,” said Jenna Chisnall, marcomms manager for sub-Saharan Africa at Garmin. Distribution giant Also Holding has acquired BeIP, a French IT network and security specialist distributor headquartered in Paris. The two parties have agreed to keep the purchase price confidential. Ingram Micro adds FireEye rights in MEA

Distributor Ingram Micro has signed a distribution deal with FireEye, a provider of cybersecurity and malware protection solutions. With this agreement, Ingram Micro is authorised to distribute all FireEye products and solutions in Gulf countries, plus Egypt, Libya, Lebanon and Jordan. Axilspot enters MEA market
