Gearkom to meet top tech retailers at DISTREE Middle East

Leading consumer tech retail distributors are participating at next month’s DISTREE Middle East to showcase their portfolios to hundreds of senior retail channel executives. Dubai-based Gearkom, which has now been operating for six years, will pre-schedule one-on-one meetings with retail and and e-tail executives at the event. SDC adds AGON rights in GCC

MMD, the Asia Pacific brand licensing partner of AOC and AGON, has appointed Dubai-based distributor SDC to market the AGON range of gaming monitors and AOC’s premium range of monitors across the GCC. Sameh Gamal, business development manager at AOC in Middle East and Africa, said: “It is our pleasure to partner with SDC. Amazon reaches agreement to buy Souq.com

NASDAQ-quoted Amazon has reached an agreement to acquire SOUQ.com, a major e-commerce player in the Middle East. The move ignites an intriguing battle for e-commerce supremacy in the fast-growing region, with Noon.com, which has financial backing from Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund, due to launch in the coming weeks. KMG adds Meizu rights in Egypt

Egypt-based distributor KMG has added distribution rights for fast-growing China-based smartphone brand Meizu.
