Badgy eyes Middle East channel expansion

Plastic card printer brand Badgy, part of the Evolis Group, is ready to expand its channel reach into the Middle East in 2017. Badgy will attend DISTREE EMEA, which takes place in Monaco on February 21-24th, gathering hundreds of senior executives from distributors across Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) theatre. Cisco appoints Al Hamaid as sales lead for Oman

Networking giant Cisco has appointed Waheed Al Hamaid as country sales lead for Oman. TechAccess names top partners of 2016

Middle East VAD TechAccess has announced the winners of its partner loyalty programme for 2016. TechAccess’ partner loyalty rewards programme recognises the outstanding achievements of partners drawn from the distributor’s network across the region. Ingram Micro adds FireEye rights in MEA

Distributor Ingram Micro has signed a distribution deal with FireEye, a provider of cybersecurity and malware protection solutions. With this agreement, Ingram Micro is authorised to distribute all FireEye products and solutions in Gulf countries, plus Egypt, Libya, Lebanon and Jordan. The deal also covers Morocco, Tunisia, Algeria and South Africa. Read full story

Ingram Micro partners with Nexthink in META

Distribution giant Ingram Micro has partnered with IT analytics solution provider Nexthink. Ingram Micro has been confirmed as a Nexthink VAD for the Middle East, Turkey and Africa (META) region. It is hoped that the partnership will help the distributor tap into the growing IT operations analytics market, which is expected to reach US$9.79 billion per annum by 2020. Read full story

Ingram Micro launches cybersecurity unit in META

Ingram Micro, one of the largest technology distributors in the META (Middle East, Turkey and Africa) region, today announced the appointment of Marc Kassis as cybersecurity director. Kassis is the former CEO Middle East of Atos, one of the largest European services providers. Axilspot enters MEA market

Fossil VP claims style will drive Middle East wearables growth

Preston Moxcey, VP at accessories manufacturer Fossil Group and GM of wearables brand Misfit, reckons that style will be the driving factor behind the growth of wearables in the Middle East market. Wearable devices may not have exploded onto the scene in the Middle East as projected by some industry quarters but, with time, they have wiggled their way into consumers’ lives. Fitness trackers and activity monitors, for example, are a common sight on wrists, and sporting a smartwatch doesn’t warrant quite as many inquisitive stares as it did some time ago. Read full story
