Riverbed appoints Itani to META channel role

Riverbed Technology, a specialist in application performance infrastructure, has appointed Ramzi Itani as its regional channel sales director for the Middle East, Turkey and Africa (META) region. In this new role, Itani will focus on the development and enablement of Riverbed’s regional channel, in-line with the company’s global channel strategy. He reports to Giovanni Di Filippo, VP channels, EMEA at Riverbed with a dotted line to Taj Elkhayat, regional VP, META. Read full story

Consumer technology brand InnJoo has announced its entry into the highly competitive TV market with plans to sell its products exclusively through Souq.com in Saudi Arabia. Nuvias acquires Dubai-based SCD

VAD outfit Nuvias has acquired SCD, a distributor operating out of Dubai. The new office will now act as a hub for Nuvias’ MEA activities, covering all parts of the GCC, Pakistan and Afghanistan. Nuvias is building an EMEA-wide, high-value, specialist distribution business, with a common proposition and consistent delivery. The strategy is to redefine value distribution to the channel, according to the company. Read full story

TechAccess celebrates one year as HDS training centre

Middle East and North Africa (MENA) VAD outfit TechAccess has successfully completed one year as a Hitachi Data Systems’ (HDS) authorised training centre. In the past year TechAccess has conducted numerous training at its solutions centre in Dubai for HDS’ partners and customers across the Middle East, Saudi Arabia, North Africa and Pakistan. Xtouch puts together aggressive UAE bundle

Mobile device brand Xtouch recently launched a special offer in the UAE retail channel, bundling its latest new generation A3 4G LTE smartphone, featuring touch fingerprint sensor technology, with the VFit smart band for just AED599 (US$163) in the UAE. The standalone price for the Xtouch A3 is AED399 (US$109) and the VFit smart band is AED499 (US$136). The bundle deal, exclusively available at at Sharaf DG stores in the UAE, represents a 33% discount on the combined standalone cost. Cisco Middle East hands Shukri Eid regional role

Cisco Middle East has announced that Shukri Eid has been appointed managing director of its East region effective immediately. In his new role, Shukri will lead Cisco’s business in the UAE, Oman, Pakistan, Afghanistan and Yemen and work closely with partners to support private and public sector customers in their efforts to digitise and transform their operations. Canon research highlights MENA opportunities
