Malwarebytes to open Middle East operation

Malwarebytes, a malware prevention and remediation solutions supplier for consumers and businesses, will begin operations in the Middle East. The US-based firm will begin operations in Dubai in April and will look to build up its regional team in the coming weeks. The firm’s strategy in the Middle East will be strongly channel-focused and Malwarebutes will announce distribution partners in the coming months. Read full story

TechAccess signs Blackberry distribution deal

Middle East VAD TechAccess has signed a distribution deal with Blackberry covering the GCC, KSA, Levant, North Africa and Pakistan. TechAccess will now offer the BlackBerry enterprise software portfolio as part of its services, which includes among others the recently introduced Good Secure EMM Suites by BlackBerry, a set of mobile security, management, productivity and collaboration offerings including app security and containerisation, identity and access management and enterprise file sync and share with file level data protection. Axiom launches new concept store in Dubai

Mobile device distributor and retailer Axiom Telecom recently launched a new concept store at Dubai Mall, combining cutting-edge technology with first-of-its-kind personalisation capability. The store included a dedicated zone called ‘XCustoms’ - a one-stop-shop for smartphone and tablet customisation in the UAE. Faisal Al Bannai, managing director at Axiom Telecom, said: "From gold plating, engraving, and colorful skins, to UV printing and Swarovski crystals, XCustoms allows gadget owners to express their individuality – whether it is supporting a favourite band or team, or showcasing a unique sense of style.” Read full story

TechAccess hosts cloud training session

TechAccess, a VAD covering the Middle East, North Africa, Levant and Pakistan, has held its first cloud training session in collaboration with Oracle. The database-as-a-service and enterprise management enablement session was conducted for 20 sales and pre-sales staff of five new partners. Souq.com secures US$275m funding

Souq.com, the Middle East’s largest online retail and marketplace platform, recently completed a funding round of more than US$275m, the largest financing of an e-commerce business in the Middle East, according to the company. Souq.com claims that the significant investment will support the company’s future growth, strengthen e-commerce in the region and empower more businesses to grow online through its platform. Mionix appoints Deal Time as GCC distributor
