Emirates Computers adds retail showroom

Emirates Computers (EC) has opened a new showroom in the Khalidiya Mall in Abu Dhabi, UAE. The retail outlet features the latest kit from Dell and Nokia as well as a range of IT accessories. EC will offer product demonstrations in its outlets, which it claims is a service in line with Dell and Nokia’s own concept retail outlets. Read full story

BDL bags BenQ Joybook rights in UAE

BenQ has appointed BDL as a premium distribution partner for its Joybook notebook series in the UAE. Joybook notebooks have had a tough time cracking the competitive UAE notebook market in recent years, but with BDL on board, BenQ reckons it can achieve double-digit growth in 2008 and claim a top five vendor spot in the UAE by the year-end. Netgear eyes Egyptian potential

Networking vendor Netgear has set its sights on the potential of the booming Egyptian market. The company recently held an in-country seminar alongside Egyptian channel partner Hiteknofal aimed at systems integrators, distributors and value-added resellers. Netgear, citing recent studies, claims that the Egyptian IT sector is set to soar in value from US$889m in 2006 to a massive US$1.3billion by 2011. Read full story

Smart device vendor HTC has ramped up the sales skills in its Middle East channel with technical training sessions for its retailers and direct partners in the UAE, Kuwait and Saudi Arabia. Sage gets busy in Bahrain

Business software powerhouse Sage hit the road and headed to Bahrain to meet partners and customers and drum up interest in the company’s solutions.
