Computerlinks signs SanDisk enterprise deal
Security and internet solutions distributor Computerlinks has struck a distribution deal to sell SanDisk’s enterprise division security solutions. The deal includes the SanDisk Cruzer enterprise range of centrally managed encrypted USB flash drives. Computerlinks reckons that the deal complements its existing portfolio of end point security products, which includes RSA, Lumension, Citrix and Check Point.

Asbis gets Microsoft rights in Croatia
Emerging markets distribution powerhouse Asbis has added Microsoft to its vendor portfolio in Croatia. Under the terms of the agreement, Asbis Croatia has been appointed as a finished goods distributor focusing on Microsoft open licence, open value and full value package product (FPP) across all Microsoft product families.

Magirus shareholders mop up Agilysys stake
The major shareholder families in value-added distributor Magirus have clubbed together to acquire the 20.2% stake in the company that had been held by NASDAQ-quoted IT solutions provide Agilysys. The three families – Alghanim, Magirus and von Kuenheim – reckon that picking up Agilysys’ stake will allow Magirus to react more quickly to changing market conditions.

Also Group pulls the plug on Poland
European distribution outfit Also Group is pulling the plug on its Polish subsidiary. Established in 2005, Also Poland has not seen a significant improvement in its market position and has not achieved sustainable profitability. Also plans to pull out of Poland by the end of 2008 with the closure impacting 70 employees. The company is also evaluating the future of its struggling Swedish unit with various options on the table including closure.

Specialist distributor CDG has struck a deal with fast-growing systems management vendor Kace. Under the terms of the agreement, CDH will support Kbox, Kace’s systems management appliance, and help the vendor develop its channel partner network in the UK and Ireland. The two companies reckon that the appliance provides new business opportunities for resellers targeting midmarket organisations.

Value-added distributor Zycko has continued its rapid European expansion, announcing the launch of its newest office in Spain. Zycko, which focuses on pushing convergent IT solutions, has opened its latest office in Las Rozas outside Madrid. The new facility will incorporate configuration, testing and a repair facility.

Früchtenicht lands sales role at Actebis Peacock
Kai Kadri Früchtenicht has been named senior sales director at German distribution outfit Actebis Peacock and will start at the beginning of December 2008. Früchtenicht, 43, succeeds Torsten Seiferth, who is leaving the Actebis Group after thirteen years. Früchtenicht has more than 15 years of sales experience in IT and media distribution and retail.
