Coolshop chooses Mirakl’s marketplace solution
Mirakl, a marketplace solutions provider, has announced today that Coolshop, one of Europe’s fasting growing online video game and accessories stores, is using Mirakl’s business-to-consumer (B2C) Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) marketplace platform as a foundation for future growth and expansion. Operating from stores in seven countries - UK, Germany, Sweden, Norway, Finland, Netherlands and Denmark - Coolshop has served over 1.6 million customers since its foundation in 2003. Originally focused on computer games, the business has expanded to sell across 22 categories.

Windows 10 Pro adoption on the rise
Unit sales of PCs equipped with Windows 10 Pro through Western European distribution jumped 14% in August 2016 compared to July, and now account for one quarter of all Windows business PCs sold, according to latest data published by CONTEXT, the European IT market research company.

Distribution giant Tech Data Europe has announced a European agreement with Silent Circle, a global leader in mobile security. Silent Circle offers private and encrypted mobile devices, software applications, and communication management services to corporations, governments and individuals worldwide. Tech Data’s channel customers will now be able to purchase the full range of Silent Circle products from the distributor.

Swyx announces record number of partners
Unified communications vendor Swyx now claims to be working with a record number of 1,200 partners. The company reckons that more and more resellers are counting on the reliability of its solutions. In the last twelve months the number of active partnerships has increased by 200. Marco Crueger, VP sales at Swyx, said: "We are continuing to grow and expand our partner base, particularly in regions where we have not yet been so strongly represented.”

CONTEXT highlights VR retail channel opportunity
Market analysis firm CONTEXT’s latest consumer research has highlighted virtual reality (VR) headsets and accessories as a strong growth opportunity for European technology retailers. A whopping 79% of those questioned said that the ability to demonstrate a VR solution was an important factor in deciding which channel they would buy a VR headset from. Smartphone brand Nubia has announced expansion plans for Europe and Latin America. Consumers in Mexico, Argentina, Russia, Spain and Germany will soon be able to purchase the latest nubia devices in their domestic markets. That includes the nubia Z11 mini, Z9 mini and Z9 Max. Mai Donghai, senior VP of Nubia Technology and co-founder of the nubia brand, said: “nubia has had success in China for the past three years, and now we are setting our sights on new international markets for expansion.
