Samsung launches printer leasing scheme

Samsung has launched a 0% financing scheme for its business-focused printer portfolio in the UK. The offer launched with participating Samsung resellers in the UK and Ireland at the start of June. Samsung plans to roll out the initiative to more countries in Europe in the near future. Read full story

Triple whammy for Tech Data in Europe

Distribution giant Tech Data reckons that three deals struck during the last quarter have strengthened its position in the European market. The strategic investments were designed to boost Tech Data’s product and customer portfolio and include snapping up parts of Compumedi in Spain, Investronica in Portugal and Man and Machine in Germany. Elko secures Sapphire rights in Croatia

Elko Group has been appointed as an official distributor for Sapphire in Croatia. Elko has established itself as a major player in IT products and components distribution in Eastern Europe. Under the terms of the agreement, Elko will push Sapphire’s ATI-based graphics accelerators and mainboards in the Croatian market. Read full story

Magirus launches vPartner programme

Regional VAD Magirus has launched a partner programme designed to help resellers capitalise on the business opportunity for virtualisation – a technology area that can reduce costs and increase efficiency. Magirus’ new vPartner programme also draws on the findings of recent research involving 700 VMware resellers in the UK and Ireland, which found that training and marketing support would play a major part in driving the expansion of their virtualisation practices in 2009. HP launches 0% leasing promotion

Hardware giant HP has ramped up its support for partners, giving them the opportunity to promote a 0% leasing promotion to qualifying SMB customers across vast swathes of Europe. Computerlinks ticks Crossbeam’s training boxes

VAD outfit Computerlinks has been appointed as the first Crossbeam accredited service provider (CASP) authorised training partner (ATP) for Northern Europe. Computerlinks CASP-ATP status means that it is now able to offer delegates comprehensive Crossbeam training both at its own professional training facilities in Central London and at Crossbeam’s fully-equipped dedicated remote training lab. Internet security software vendor WebSpy hopes to recruit European partners with the launch of its global partner programme. WebSpy offers internet monitoring, analysis and reporting software. Nortel serves up channel sweeteners

Nortel has whipped the covers off a range of EMEA channel incentive programmes, which the vendor claims will allow partners to boost revenues and profits. These new programmes, launched by Nortel in early 2009, offer channel loyalty rewards, competitive pricing initiatives and marketing support on unified communications and multimedia applications equipment for SMB and enterprise customers.
