Dixons Carphone takes next step in smart home management

Nubia eyes European and Latin American markets

Smartphone brand Nubia has announced expansion plans for Europe and Latin America. Consumers in Mexico, Argentina, Russia, Spain and Germany will soon be able to purchase the latest nubia devices in their domestic markets. That includes the nubia Z11 mini, Z9 mini and Z9 Max. Mai Donghai, senior VP of Nubia Technology and co-founder of the nubia brand, said: “nubia has had success in China for the past three years, and now we are setting our sights on new international markets for expansion. Also Group opens subsidiary in Slovenia

European distribution giant Also Group has established a subsidiary in Slovenia – the 14th European market the company now has presence in. The Ljubljana-based office will focus on digital services distribution, launching the Also cloud marketplace, a one-stop-shop solution for Also customers, in April 2016. Also is the first indirect partner in the Microsoft cloud solution provider (CSP) programme in Slovenia, opening up opportunities for Also resellers to package different solutions with Microsoft cloud services through the Also cloud marketplace. Media Markt and Amazon among retail winners at ‘EMEA Channel Academy: 2016 Awards’

The ‘EMEA Channel Academy: 2016 Awards’ were held in conjunction with regional channel event DISTREE EMEA 2016. These included a series of nine awards for consumer technology retailers and e-tailers operating in Europe, plus one award for online marketplaces featuring consumer technology products. Media Markt was the big winner on the night, picking up the Retailer of the Year Award in four separate regions: South East Europe, Southern Europe, DACH and Benelux. Online giant Amazon emerged triumphant in two categories as the company was crowned UK & Ireland Retailer of the Year and also picked up the European Online Marketplace of the Year Award.
