Vandenbussche joins Tech Data Europe
Distribution giant Tech Data Europe has recruited Johan Vandenbussche to a newly created position as senior VP of operations. In his new role Vandenbussche will report to Néstor Cano, president of Europe at Tech Data. Vandenbussche brings a wealth of distribution experience to his new role having spent the last 15 years with rival distributor Ingram Micro.

Ingram Micro to implement European changes
Distribution giant Ingram Micro plans to implement a consistent pan-European operating model that the company claims will significantly improve the way it serves vendors, customers and other business partners. The restructuring announced also involves closing some warehouse facilities in Germany and Benelux. The distributor’s regional accounting centre, currently located in Barcelona, Spain, will also be relocated to Sofia in Bulgaria.

EET Europarts adds Motörheadphönes rights
EET Europarts has signed a pan-European distribution deal with headphones brand Motörheadphönes. The Motörheadphönes brand is focused on consumers with an appetite for rock and pop music. If it’s too loud, you’re too old, apparently. The two companies reckon that the target group of rock and pop music fans is actually larger than those who prefer club, dance and hip hop music, based on records of what music consumers actually stream.

Also sales climb for first nine months
European distribution giant Also Group has reported sales of €4.57 billion (US$6.28 billion) for the first nine months of 2013, up 4.9% year-on-year. After-tax profits were up 6.2% year-on-year at €25.7m (US$35.3m). This represented an after-tax profit margin of 0.6% the same as the previous year. Central Europe put in a strong performance while Northern and Eastern Europe started to recover after a tough first half of the year.

Baggio and Vandenbussche leave Ingram Micro
Ingram Micro has announced that Vincenzo Baggio and Johan Vandenbussche will leave the distribution giant’s European operation. The departures come after a European leadership shuffle by new regional president Gerhard Schulz. Baggio and Vandenbussche have decided to leave to pursue opportunities outside Ingram Micro.
