CA has launched a customised partner programme for its internet security products. The programme offers training, certification, financial incentives, customer leads, sales collateral, support and an online demonstration centre. US-based flash drive vendor Ironkey has announced that more than 100 VARs are now signed up for its global channel programme. Maxdata insolvency proceedings begin
Insolvency proceedings have commenced for European hardware player Maxdata. The company filed for insolvency at the end of June 2008 in Essen, Germany. The local court has appointed Dr. Winfrid Andres as preliminary insolvency administrator and one of his first acts has been to transfer all UK sales and services operations to Maxdata’s Benelux subsidiary.

Avaya brings Bayer on board in EMEA
Business communications outfit Avaya has appointed Michael Bayer as president of the vendor’s field operation in EMEA. In his new post Bayer will lead the region’s sales and operations and will work with customers to deliver Avaya solutions across EMEA. Bayer joins Avaya from Motorola, where he was VP and general manager for Motorola EMEA’s enterprise and mobility business, and a member of Motorola’s global steering committee for country management.

Brightpoint streamlines European operation
NASDAQ-quoted wireless device distributor Brightpoint will cut between 275 and 325 operations in its European operation, as the company restructures and integrates recent purchase Dangaard into the wider organisation. Steen F. Pedersen – a Dangaard founder and current president of Europe at Brightpoint – will leave the company on November 19th 2008. Michael Koehn Milland, who will become president EMEA at Brightpoint, will replace Pedersen.
