Aspera targets EMEA channel

File-transfer technology provider Aspera has officially launched an EMEA operation and is on the lookout for resellers and technology partners to drive its growth. Aspera has appointed Bruce Brewer as EMEA sales director to spearhead the company’s channel expansion. Avnet bags EMEA eCopy rights

Value-added distributor Avnet Technology Solutions (ATS) has picked up EMEA rights for eCopy’s document imaging solutions. eCopy provides solutions that integrate paper documents into business software applications. eCopy solutions will initially be available to ATS’ channel partners in the UK before the distribution agreement is extended throughout EMEA. Cisco talks up channel collaboration

Networking giant Cisco has claimed that collaboration among channel partners contributes 31% of their sales. The results of the study were revealed during Cisco’s global partner summit in Honolulu. Cisco is doing its part to help resellers work together with the lauch of Partner Exchange, a network designed to help partners team up for projects. Read full story

NComputing strengthens sales team

Desktop virtualisation solutions vendor NComputing has beefed up its sales operation with the appointment of two new VPs. Frank Coggrave has been named as the company’s new VP sales in EMEA and will help to drive the company’s continued expansion within the region. Manish Sharma will undertake a similar role in his new position as VP sales for Asia-Pacific. Read full story

Ingres debuts partner programme

Ingres has launched a partner programme that it claims will both empower and showcase partners achieving success using the open source business model. Ingres, which provides open source database management software and support services, announced the programme launch at its global partner summit in Prague. Ingres claims that its new programme will help partners increase margins and reduce costs. Read full story

C2C appoints EMEA sales boss

E-mail data management solutions player C2C has appointed Andrew Brown as sales manager for the EMEA region with immediate effect. Brown previously held the position of senior account manager for the UK. Brown, will now attempt to repeat his UK success on a wider scale and drive C2C’s growth throughout the EMEA region and expand the companies channels to market. Read full story

OpenSpan rouses Raby for EMEA mission

Service-oriented architecture platform player OpenSpan has appointed Steve Raby as VP sales in Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA). OpenSpan generated 40% of its 2007 sales from outside North America and the company is keen to realise the significant growth opportunities that exist in overseas markets. Rectron signs up Samsung and Epson

South African channel giant Rectron has expanded its vendor portfolio, signing a deal with Samsung to distribute the vendor giant’s complete range of mono and colour laser printers and consumables across the country. Rectron has also struck a new distribution agreement with Epson. The deals come just weeks after HP and Rectron ended a printer distribution agreement. Read full story

Blouin takes on tough job at Bell

Bell Microproducts has named Marc Blouin as VP finance and chief accounting officer. In his new role Bouin will look after Bell’s accounting operations and corporate accounting functions, such as consolidations, SEC reporting and Sarbanes-Oxley compliance. Blouin faces a tough first few weeks at Bell. The company was delisted from NASDAQ last week for failing to file overdue reports with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). Read full story
