Google unveils Apps reseller programme

Web behemoth Google has whipped the covers off an authorised reseller programme for its Google Apps suite. The company launched Google Apps for business two years ago and the suite is today used by more than 1 million businesses with 3,000 new companies signing up each day. Lexmark cuts fourth quarter forecast

Imaging and printing giant Lexmark now expects its fourth quarter sales of 2008 to slide 17% year-on-year. The company had previously forecast a drop ‘in the low to mid teens range’. Lexmark attributes the revenue decline to lower laser and inkjet hardware unit sales and currency rate shifts. In response, Lexmark has unveiled a 2009 restructuring plan that is expected to result in 375 job losses at the vendor. Read full story

Nvidia warns of sharp sales slump

Components vendor Nvidia has sharply lowered its sales forecast for the fourth quarter of fiscal 2009. Sales for the quarter are now expected to slide between 40% and 50% sequentially from the third quarter of fiscal 2009. Nvidia attributes the sales drop to further weakness in end-user demand and inventory reductions by channel partner in the global PC supply chain. Read full story

Claman leaves Dell EMEA channel role

Dell’s EMEA channel organisation is on the lookout for a new boss after Josh Claman’s move to head up the hardware giant’s EMEA public sector unit. Claman had been serving as VP and general manager of Dell channels in EMEA. Greg Davis, general manager of Dell Americas channel group will now assume a global role in running the vendor’s channel business. Read full story
