Computerlinks launches global support centre

Computerlinks has opened its first global support centre. The security and internet solutions distributor reckons that the facility will allow it to meet resellers’ need for round-the-clock IT security and network support. Seagate names Whitby as EMEA sales boss

Hard drive giant Seagate has appointed Mark Whitby as VP sales and marketing for EMEA. Based in the UK, Whitby will oversee all of the vendor’s sales and marketing operations across the vast region. In his new expanded role, Whitby will report to Kurt Richarz, Seagate’s executive VP for sales and marketing. Read full story

HP tweaks partner programme for 2010

IT colossus HP will simplify the 2010 entry process to its preferred partner programme for existing reseller members. The 2010 programme will recognise partners’ existing credentials, educing the number of entry requirements for current preferred partners and saving them significant administrative time in qualifying. Maquet to replace Forbes as Ingram’s EMEA boss

Distribution giant Ingram Micro has appointed Alain Maquet as president of its EMEA operation effective July 1st 2009. Maquet is replacing current EMEA president Jay Forbes who is resigning from the company at the end of June and returning to his native Canada. Maquet, currently president of Ingram Micro Latin America, has vast experience of the European market. Read full story
