DISTREE EMEA workshops confirmed

DISTREE Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) has confirmed the full line-up of workshops and summit sessions at this year’s regional channel event, which takes place from February 24-27th in Monaco. The line-up features a number of organisations speaking at DISTREE EMEA for the first time including BVOH, Early Metrics, European Hardware Association (EHA), Futurecandy, Rude Baguette and Zyme. DISTREE EMEA announces new application-based awards

DISTREE Events has announced an increased number of application-based awards for the ‘EMEA Channel Academy: 2016 Awards’, which take place in conjunction with DISTREE Europe, Middle East & Africa (EMEA). DISTREE EMEA is the region’s premier independent annual event for the consumer technology channel. This year’s awards include seven application-based awards, with companies operating within the EMEA channel invited to submit entries by Monday February 15th. Read full story

New online marketplace category added alongside retailer awards for ‘EMEA Channel Academy: 2016 Awards’

The 14th annual DISTREE Europe, Middle East & Africa (EMEA) channel event, which takes place in Monaco from February 24-27th 2016, will host the ‘EMEA Channel Academy: 2016 Awards’. Taking place for the eighth consecutive year in 2016, the awards recognise excellence in the regional consumer technology channel. Voting is now open for vendors and distributors to select the ‘Retailer of the Year’ across nine separate regions. Jumia Nigeria names Anammah as new CEO

Online marketplace and e-tailer Jumia has appointed Juliet Anammah as CEO of Jumia Nigeria. Anammah is taking over from former co-CEOs Jeremy Doutte and Nicolas Martin, who are taking charge of Jumia Global across the 11 African countries in which the fast-growing e-commerce group operates. Ctroniq builds Saudi Arabian consumer reach through Carrefour

Device vendor Ctroniq is growing its consumer channel sales in Saudi Arabia, working closely with hypermarket chain Carrefour as an in-country retail partner. Alain Moles, VP marketing and sourcing at Carrefour Saudi Arabia, said: “We were pleased and excited to have signed Ctroniq as a vendor partner for Carrefour Saudi Arabia, which operates hypermarkets across the kingdom.” Read full story

Euronics plans deeper group integration

European technology retailer association Euronics wants to adopt a more integrated business model in 2016. Speaking at the CONTEXT Retail CEO Breakfast, which took place during last week’s CES in Las Vegas, Hans Carpels, president at Euronics International, stated: “Euronics wants to become a more integrated group, harmonising our supply chain solutions in each country to work together more closely.” Read full story
