Darty boosts margins with Mirakl marketplace

Marketplace platform provider Mirakl reckons that Darty, a leading European electronics retailer, is seeing better visibility in search, greater profit margins, and new category growth after implementing the Mirakl marketplace solution in 2014. CONTEXT highlights VR retail channel opportunity

Market analysis firm CONTEXT’s latest consumer research has highlighted virtual reality (VR) headsets and accessories as a strong growth opportunity for European technology retailers. A whopping 79% of those questioned said that the ability to demonstrate a VR solution was an important factor in deciding which channel they would buy a VR headset from. The 13th annual DISTREE Russia ended yesterday with hundreds of senior channel executives attending the two-day event. DISTREE Russia took place from June 22nd to 23rd in St. Petersburg, Russia. New robotics and innovation store to open in Dubai

Distributor Action To Action will open a robotics and innovations store in Dubai called Innovators, which will be located at Dubai Festival City. Majid Al Futtaim opens first Carrefour in Nairobi

Majid Al Futtaim has opened the first Carrefour hypermarket in Nairobi, Kenya. The French retail franchisees’ entry into the Kenyan market marks a significant milestone in the Company’s massive expansion plans into the African continent. The new hypermarket is located in the newly opened Hub shopping mall in the Karen suburb of Nairobi and offers more than 30,000 items including home appliances and electronics.
