Treolan adds Huawei Enterprise rights

Russian distributor Treolan, part of the LANIT group, has added Huawei Enterprise products to its vendor portfolio. Under the terms of the agreement Treolan becomes an official Russian distributor for Huawei Enterprise. The distributor will carry a range of solutions aimed at government and large account clients across multiple vertical markets. Treolan will carry the full portfolio of Huawei Enterprise solutions and make them available to its in-country reseller base. Read full story

PC Zone targets e-tail growth

Jordan-based retailer PC Zone continues to develop its reputation as an in-country e-tailer for ICT and consumer electronics (CE) products. PC Zone’s e-commerce site has now been up and running for a year. The retailer claims that is already one of the top ten e-commerce websites in Jordan. The website has had more than 320,000 visits in the last 12 months with each use spending an average of five minutes on the site. Read full story

Computacenter plans capital return in 2013

London-quoted reseller and IT services provider Computacenter plans to return £75m (US$111m) to shareholders in 2013, in addition to the normal dividend. Computacenter announced sales up 2.2% in calendar 2012 at £2.91 billion (US$4.32 billion). After tax profits fell 19% year-on-year to £49.1m (US$73m). Computacenter reckoned that it had put in a strong performance in the UK and had seen early signs of recovery in Germany. Read full story

Printing vendor Lexmark held a recent channel training session in Oman to bring in-country resellers up to speed on its plans. The seminar and workshop session covered the latest Lexmark product lines, upcoming launches, plus service and maintenance topics. Kelway to buy Equanet from Dixons

UK-based IT solutions and service provider Kelway has agreed to purchase the non-trade and public sector business of Equanet, the IT solutions brand of Dixons Retail. Kelway reckons that the deal will extend its midmarket reach and enhance its public sector capabilities. Dixons Retail will continue to operate its PC World Business offering, serving small businesses in stores across the UK. Read full story

Also-Actebis considers Saphin deal

European distribution giant Also-Actebis continues to mull over a possible deal to acquire a majority stake in Dutch channel conglomerate Saphin Group. Also-Actebis signed a letter of intent back in mid-December 2012 and started negotiations with a view to a possible deal. The Saphin Group has stakes in numerous Dutch IT companies and achieved annual sales of approximately US$1 billion. Read full story
