Al-Futtaim Panatech opens new Panasonic showroom

Al-Futtaim Panatech, the exclusive partner for Panasonic products in the UAE, has announced the opening of its biggest brand showroom in Dubai. Located near the bustling Fish Roundabout in Deira, the new brand showroom, spread across 8,600 square feet, will serve as a one-stop destination for customers, housing the most expansive range of Panasonic products, all under one-roof. Xerox Emirates targets SMB channels

Xerox Emirates, a joint venture between the Mohamed Hareb Al Otaiba group and Xerox Limited, achieved 50% growth in its channel partner business in 2014. This year Xerox Emirates will focus on driving and increasing incremental business revenue within the channel. The company plans to build on its existing distribution channels to target the growing small and mid-size business (SMB) market. Read full story

From connected devices to smart home solutions

Persuading European consumers to invest in smart home solutions has been a tough challenge for the industry to date, but a new breed of connected devices and point solutions could help trigger a mass market breakthrough. Speaking at a recent connected home conference, Greg Roberts, VP marketing at connected home platform provider Icontrol Networks, said: “We are now seeing compelling connected devices in the market – point solutions. These may not connect with other devices but it is a chance for customers to get their feet wet in terms of smart home technologies.” Read full story

Syscap pledges channel financing boost

UK-based IT finance provider Syscap has ring-fenced £50m (US$78.3m) for the IT channel in 2015 and is launching a new partner programme. The announcement forms part of a wider strategy to refocus the company as the primary source of channel finance. Syscap estimates that it currently deals with less than 10% of the reseller community in the UK that meets its new eligibility criteria. Read full story
