TechAccess trains partners on Extreme Networks

DISTREE Russia ends after successful 13th annual technology channel event

The 13th annual DISTREE Russia ended yesterday with hundreds of senior channel executives attending the two-day event. DISTREE Russia took place from June 22nd to 23rd in St. Petersburg, Russia. DISTREE Russia allowed technology brands and suppliers to hold pre-scheduled one-on-one meetings with top resellers and retailers inside Russia. Thousands of pre-scheduled meetings took place between delegates as DISTREE Russia confirmed its position as the premier annual event for technology companies looking to manage, build or launch routes-to-market within Russia. TP-Link plans South African channel roadshow

Networking vendor TP-Link is teaming up with distributor partner Corex for a South African channel roadshow. The series of channel events will focus on promoting TP-Link’s new networking solutions and mobile device. TechAccess unveils Unify SME initiative

Middle East VAD outfit TechAccess has unveiled its Unify SME initiative and new promotion to partners. An update session in Dubai introduced partners to the new initiative and shared details on rebates and promotions. Partners were also updated on Unify’s channel programme, benefits and TechAccess’ value proposition. Feras Zeidan, Unify’s new VP for the Middle East & Africa, attended the event to thank partners for their continued support, and reinforced Unify’s commitment to enabling them with the solutions to help them grow their business. Copy Cat to consider IPO

East African IT company Copy Cat Group will consider listing on the Nairobi Stock Exchange (NSE). Fast-growing Copy Cat continues to expand its operations across the East African region. Vishal Patel, newly appointed managing director at Copy Cat, said the company board would discuss the potential for listing the company. The proposal to list Copy Cat was first mooted by Joe Mucheru, Kenya’s ICT Cabinet Secretary, during Copy Cat’s 30th anniversary celebrations. Read full story

PC World Kenya reveals merger plan

Kenya-based retailer and reseller PC World plans to merge its operations with a group of local investors who have a range of interests in various business sectors. The identity of the investors and the structure of the deal has not been disclosed. Bobby Gadhia, CEO at PC World Kenya, told Channel EMEA: “This merger will see our company grow to the next level and maximise the full potential the market has to offer. After the merger we will have 12 retail outlets spread across the country and a workforce of approximately 100 people, so 2016 is a big year for us.” Read full story

The ‘EMEA Channel Academy: 2016 Awards’ were held in conjunction with regional channel event DISTREE EMEA 2016. These included a series of initiative awards based on applications received from vendors, distributors, resellers and retailers.
