UAE-based Jumbo Electronics’ enterprise division has picked up an outstanding corporate reseller award from hardware vendor partner Lenovo. Jumbo Electronics has been a Lenovo channel partner since 2005. The accolade was handed over at Lenovo’s recent business partner meeting held at the Atlantis resort in Dubai.

Brazilian distribution sector employs 9,900
Brazilian IT distributor association Abradisti’s latest research indicates that the country’s distribution sector employs 9,900 IT professionals. The Brazilian IT distribution channel witnessed 7.6% sales growth in 2011 as the overall market continued to grow. Despite this top line growth, Abradisti’s research indicated that the number of employees involved in distribution fell by 4% as the channel adjusted its operating costs to cope with declining margins.

South Africa’s Bytes Technology Group has launched a storage business unit in the UAE focused on pushing NetApp solutions. Bytes is currently NetApp’s largest partner in Africa and has extensive experience in enterprise storage and data solutions. Bytes new venture in the Middle East is supported by regional distributor Aptec, which has worked closely with NetApp for several years.
