D-Link collaborates with Silicon Labs

Networking vendor D-Link and Internet of Things (IoT) solutions provider Silicon Labs have announced that they are working together to accelerate smart home technology development and deployment. The collaboration brings D-Link’s strength in the design and manufacture of consumer networking devices, its market recognition and its well-established smart home ecosystem, mydlink home, together with Silicon Labs’ deep expertise in developing innovative semiconductors and modules leveraging key connected home and IoT wireless networking technologies such as ZigBee, Thread, Bluetooth low energy and Wi-Fi. Darty boosts margins with Mirakl marketplace

Marketplace platform provider Mirakl reckons that Darty, a leading European electronics retailer, is seeing better visibility in search, greater profit margins, and new category growth after implementing the Mirakl marketplace solution in 2014. According to a new case study published by Forrester Research, Darty attributes its marketplace success to buy in from C-level support and the foresight to start with non-overlapping product categories, dedicate adequate employee resources, and take advantage Mirakl’s marketplace platform versus custom building their own solution. Copy Cat to consider IPO

East African IT company Copy Cat Group will consider listing on the Nairobi Stock Exchange (NSE). Fast-growing Copy Cat continues to expand its operations across the East African region. Vishal Patel, newly appointed managing director at Copy Cat, said the company board would discuss the potential for listing the company. The proposal to list Copy Cat was first mooted by Joe Mucheru, Kenya’s ICT Cabinet Secretary, during Copy Cat’s 30th anniversary celebrations. Read full story
