Acer strikes STC deal in Saudi Arabia

Research house IDC has come up with its top ten cloud predictions for the European software market in 2011. IDC reckons that the cloud, which it defines as packaged software solutions licensed as subscriptions and delivered over the internet, will have a profound impact on software vendors, business models, security, cloud use cases as well as IT managers and directors. LetMeRepair launches in Turkey

Post-sales service specialist LetMeRepair has launched in Turkey, opening a repair facility in Istanbul at the beginning of the month. LetMeRepair has more that 800 full time employees and operates repair depots in 13 countries within EMEA. The company offers after sales support to the IT, consumer electronics and telecommunications industries, with service capabilities ranging from technical call desk to SLA-based same day on-site resolution. Cisco launches cloud partner programme

Cisco has whipped the covers off a brand new cloud partner programme at its annual partner summit. The new three-track programme is designed to help partners choose their role in the cloud and build opportunities in the market. Partners can achieve designated status in the programme based on existing accreditations and specialisations – from both Cisco and third party vendors. Read full story

Magirus extends VMware training

European VAD Magirus has added further VMware virtualisation training courses to its UK offering. The courses give resellers the chance to gain advanced VMware certifications designed to allow them to increase revenue and differentiate their business. Magirus is seeing strong growth for its existing VMware training courses with a 63% increase in delegates from the third to fourth quarter in 2010. Read full story
