Fujitsu Frontech signs Stordis for XG series
Fujitsu Frontech North America has signed Stordis as its first EMEA distributor for the Fujitsu XG series of Ethernet switches. Fujitsu Frontech North America supplies a range of IT technologies, digital media solutions, retail solutions and biometric security solutions. The two companies reckon that the deal cements Stordis’ reputation as a European distributor of networking and storage products.

20:20 Mobile seals Starlink deal in Qatar
European mobile phone distributor 20:20 Mobile has struck a deal with Qatar-based Starlink. Under the terms of the agreement, 20:20 Mobile will provide services for Starlink’s new in-store mobile phone recycling service. The recycling scheme, which will be launched in Starlink’s Qatar stores, will offer customers the chance to trade in out-of-use handsets for a new device.

Xerox Emirates signs Seven Seas
Xerox Emirates has named UAE-based systems integrator and reseller Seven Seas as a business partner. Xerox Emirates, a joint venture between the Mohamed Hareb Al Otaiba Group and Xerox, reckons that the appointment of Seven Seas forms part of its ongoing strategy to expand indirect channel business and boost its market reach. Xerox Emirates is focused on pushing the vendor’s document management products, applications and solutions across the UAE.

NTT makes Dimension Data offer
Japan-based global telecoms service provider NTT has tabled a US$3.22 billion cash offer for IT services and solutions provider Dimension Data. The bid has been unanimously recommended by both boards of directors. NTT has already received irrevocable undertakings to accept the bid from Dimension Data directors, Venfin DDHoldings and Allan Gray – together accounting for approximately 52% of Dimension Data’s issued shares.

UK-based systems integrator Prolinx has acquired consultancy outfit Five IT. The deal represents the third acquisition by Prolinx in the last 12 months. Five IT specializes in providing virtualisation services to the commercial sector. Prolinx reckons that its latest purchase is another pillar in its quest to become a leading provider of Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), building upon its expertise as a systems integrator of virtualisation, data management and infrastructure technologies.
