HCL Infosystems confirms Apple rights in India

Indian IT group HCL Infosystems has confirmed an agreement to distribute Apple products, including iPhones and other Apple products, in the Indian market. HCL Infosystems announced in July 2017 that it was in discussions with Apple regarding a distribution deal in India. Apple has existing distribution tie-ups with Ingram Micro, Redington, Rashi Peripherals and Beetel Teletech in India. Read full story

Indian distributor conducts GST awareness campaign

Indian distributor Rashi Peripherals recently concluded its unique goods and services tax (GST) PC campaign for partners. The ‘R U GST Ready’ campaign aimed at creating GST awareness among partners and assisting them in smooth transition to the new tax regime. Under the campaign, over 300 Champions of Rashi Peripherals spread across the country reached out to over 1000 outlets and assisted partners in upgrading their existing IT hardware to comply with GST requirements. Rashi Peripherals claims that it was the only distributor in India to start GST billing from July 1st. Read full story

Hubbard joins mobile unit at Exertis

Distributor Exertis has appointed Rik Hubbard as commercial and services director for its mobile division, reporting to Simon Woodman, Exertis mobile director. In this role, Hubbard will be working with the sales and purchasing teams to maximise performance of the division’s vendors. His remit will include building on the opportunity to launch a range of device-focused services from trade-in, repair and refurbishment to finance and service contracts, following Exertis’ recent announcement that it had acquired MTR Group. ELKO bags distributor awards

Emerging markets distributor ELKO has picked up a number of distributor awards based on voring from resellers participating in research house CONTEXT’s ChannelWatch survey. ELKO was named Specialist Distributor of the Year in all three Baltic countries: Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania. ELKO also picked up the Best Broadline Distributor of the Year award for 2016 in Lithuania. Read full story

Rashi Peripherals eyes components growth in India

Indian distribution giant Rashi Peripherals recently concluded a training programme on components, designed to encourage the growth of ‘personalised PC’ offerings across India. Leading IT brands such as Toshiba, Asus, Intel, Western Digital and ADATA showcased their new offerings and also conducted in-depth training session on their latest product portfolio. ZOTAC goes exclusive with Exertis

Exertis has confirmed a UK distribution deal with ZOTAC for its complete line-up of products, including graphics cards and mini-PCs. Stuart Hatch, components general manager at Exertis, said: “ZOTAC has a great range of Nvidia graphics cards with models that are keenly priced even up to enthusiast-grade water-cooled models. Exertis acquires MTR Group

Distributor Exertis has acquired UK-based MTR Group, a service and solutions provider specialising in second generation lifecycle extension of mobile, wearable and tablet devices. MTR employs 60 staff at its refurbishment facility in Harlow, Essex. MTR generated sales of £10.8m (US$14.3m) for the year ending 30th November 2016 and has seen significant and sustained year on year growth since its incorporation in 2011 by founders and co-owners Steve Healy and Andy Payne. iBRIT strikes Saudi Arabian partnership

Smartphone brand iBRIT has signed a strategic partnership and distribution deal in Saudi Arabia. Haitham Kalakash, CEO of iBRIT, has confirmed that iBRIT is working with distributor Etihad Specialized Trading (EST) in the Kingdom. Tech Data names new LAC general manager

Distribution giant Tech Data has appointed Deena LaMarque Piquion to VP and general manager, Latin America and Caribbean (LAC). In this role, Piquion will oversee the strategic direction and execution of all sales, marketing, and operations functions for the company’s LAC organisation, including its Miami-based Latin America export division. She will report to Jeff Bawol, senior VP, enterprise solutions at Tech Data. Read full story
