SOA software specialist AmberPoint has signed a distribution agreement with Italian software specialist Eurosel. The move is the latest in a series of distribution deals for AmberPoint, which has seen the company expand its channel to market across Europe. AmberPoint claims that its SOA management system is the most widely distributed and resold runtime governance software in the world.

Comztek bags Adobe distributor award
South African distributor Comztek has picked up an Adobe distribution partner of the year award. Comztek claims that it is the first distributor in the Middle East and Africa region to be recognised in this way by Adobe. The award is based on a number of criteria including sales growth, turnover and a proactive sales approach.

Middle East distribution house BDL has continued its regional expansion plan, announcing its entry into the fast-growing IT sector in Kuwait – the third largest market in the region according to the distributor. Computerlinks receives takeover offer
IT security and internet solutions distributor Computerlinks has received a takeover offer from Platin 274, a fund managed by Barclays Private Equity, which values the company at US$162m (€104m) – a premium of 38.9% on the Frankfurt-listed VAD’s share price at the time the takeover approach was announced. Computerlinks’ shares soared in pre-market trading this morning by as much as 41% as a result of the bid announcement.

Peripherals and device vendor Icon7 has expanded its presence in the Eastern European market, inking a distribution agreement with Hungary’s HRP Group. Under the terms of the deal, HRP will introduce Icon7 products into the Hungarian market and develop channels to market for the kit.

Elko secures Baltic MSI rights
Eastern Europe and Baltic distribution outfit Elko has signed a new deal with MSI. Under the terms of the agreement, Elko will become an official MSI distributor in the Baltic market. While MSI components are currently available in the Baltic channel, Elko’s deal with the vendor means that additional product lines such as MSI laptops will now arrive in the regional market.
