Aerohive arrives in EMEA

Aerohive Networks has opened a European office and confirmed a number of distribution agreements across EMEA. Aerohive, which offers the wireless LAN access point HiveAP, has opened a UK office staffed by six sales and technical staff. Gareth Green, VP EMEA sales at Aerohive, will lead the regional team. Computerlinks signs Jacarta deal

IT security and internet solutions distributor Computerlinks has boosted its portfolio, signing a deal to distribute Jacarta’s solutions in the UK and Ireland. Jacarta offer environmental and power monitoring equipment. Under the terms of the agreement, Computerlinks will distribute the complete Jacarta portfolio, focusing on the InterSeptor product range – a scaleable environmental monitoring system for computer rooms and racking. Stonesoft extends Magirus rights

Stonesoft has expanded Magirus’ distribution rights for StoneGate network security solutions, extending the VAD’s territorial coverage to include Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Magirus already held StoneGate rights for Italy and Belgium. Stonesoft recently unveiled its first comprehensive StoneGate security solution for virtual VMware environments and became a member of the VMware technology alliance programme. Read full story

Tech Data completes Scribona buy

Distribution colossus Tech Data has announced that it has completed its acquisition of Scribona assets in Sweden, Finland and Norway. Tech Data is splashing out approximately US$60m plus a further US$23m premium for the net value of the transferred assets including inventory, vendor agreements, customer lists and office equipment. Altigen has boosted its European channel reach, appointing Boport Tele-Communication as a master distributor covering the Benelux region. Cherry secures Dot deal in UK

Cherry Electrical Products has appointed Dot Distribution as a UK distributor. Dot will carry Cherry’s security products, which include smartcard, RFID and biometric keyboards and standalone smartcard-RFID readers. VMware appoints Aptec

Middle East distribution giant Aptec has picked up VMware rights for the Middle East and North Africa region. Aptec will offer VMware solutions across the region as interest in virtualisation solutions begins to pick up. Mio makes Middle East Moov with IMS

GPS device vendor Mio Technology’s co-operation agreement with UAE-based International Marketing Services (IMS) is bringing the latest kit to the Middle East. Phoenix flies with Al Hosani deal

Phoenix Software has signed a strategic partnership with UAE-based Al Hosani Computer, allowing the latter to distribute the full range of Sony Creative software throughout the Middle East.
