Computerlinks signs up for Ruckus

Value-added distributor Computerlinks has boosted its portfolio, signing a UK and Ireland distribution agreement with Ruckus Wireless covering the vendor’s ZoneFlex product range. TDME finalises Qimonda deal

Track Distribution Middle East (TDME) – the new incarnation of global giant Tech Data’s discarded Middle East enterprise and components business – has finalised a distribution deal for Qimonda’s Aeneon memory products covering the UAE, Lebanon, Egypt, Saudi Arabia and Kuwait. Track is now a wholly owned subsidiary of Middle East distribution powerhouse Aptec Holdings. Read full story

Online adds Avaya enterprise portfolio

Middle East networking VAD Online Distribution has added Avaya’s enterprise portfolio to its vendor line-up. The deal covers the entire Middle East region excluding Saudi Arabia. Online says that the deal is significant for its convergent technologies business. The company will push Avaya’s internet protocol telephony systems, communications software applications and services through its reseller base. Read full story

Ingram Micro confirms second quarter guidance

Global distribution giant Ingram Micro has reaffirmed its financial guidance for the second quarter ending June 2008. The company still expects sales to come in at between US$8.5billion and US$8.75billion with profits in the range of US$59m to US$64m. Ingram’s profit forecasts do not take into account costs related to the expense reduction plans underway in EMEA and North America. Read full story

Tumbleweed ramps up Russian channel

Tumbleweed has appointed Rainbow Technologies as a premier distributor in Russia. Tumbleweed, which specialises in managed file transfer and e-mail security solutions, reckons that its latest channel recruit will help it tap into Russia’s technology boom. RandomStorm signs up Sigma SD

Vulnerability management software vendor RandomStorm has signed up UK-based Sigma Software Distribution to expand its channel to market. Under the terms of the distribution deal, Sigma will include RandomStorm’s network vulnerability scanning tools, xStorm and iStorm in its portfolio of technical, development and business products. Almasa appoints new components boss

John David has rejoined Middle East distribution giant Almasa as general manager of the company’s components business. David was formerly Almasa product and territory manager during his previous stint at Almasa. David has a wealth of eexperience in the hard disk drive (HDD) channel. Almasa hopes that its latest recruit will help to cement the company’s reputation as a leading distributor of IT hardware and networking kit in the Middle East and North Africa. Read full story

Sadoun becomes EMEA enterprise boss at Arrow

Laurent Sadoun has been named as the president of Arrow Electronics enterprise computing solutions (ECS) business in EMEA, including Logix, which Arrow formally acquired on Jun 2nd. Sadoun – previously CEO and chairman at Logix - will report directly in to Arrow ECS president Andrew Bryant. Arrow received competition clearance from the European Competition Commission for its proposed acquisition of Logix in May. Read full story

Vosky adds Noanet as European distributor

Vosky has struck a distribution agreement with Noanet. Vosky, which develops Skype for business solutions, will use Noanet as a channel to market for its Vosky Exchange PBX-to-Skype application gateways. Noanet will market the product line through its channel of 200 VARs throughout Spain, Portugal and France. Read full story
