Asbis opens online marketplace in Turkey

Emerging markets distribution outfit Asbis has whipped the covers off its new online marketplace for customers in Turkey. The dedicated business-to-business e-commerce site will offer resellers a product catalogue and the ability to reserve products, place orders and track deliveries. Asbis Turkey was established in December 2007 and currently serves approximately 200 resellers throughout the country. Read full story

Tarsus lands Linksys rights

South African distributor Tarsus Technologies has extended its distribution deal with networking giant Cisco to include Linksys kit. Tarsus reckons that adding Linksys to its portfolio will broaden its appeal to SME-focused resellers. Empa signs Iomega deal

Middle East distribution player Empa has been named as an authorised Iomega distributor in the Middle East. Iomega, an EMC subsidiary, offers data storage and protection solutions for consumers and small businesses. The two companies confirmed the deal on the sidelines of GITEX 2008 in Dubai. Comztek eyes East African expansion

South Africa based distributor Comztek plans to expand its operations in East Africa, building on its recent office opening in Nairobi, Kenya. Despite the volatility of many global financial markets, Comztek has confirmed that its securitisation agreement has been renewed for a further three years, increasing the amount of funding available to the distributor from US$7.9m to US$11.6m.
