South African distributor Biodata IT has added IBM’s Internet Security Systems (ISS) products to its portfolio with immediate effect. The distribution deal covers South Africa, Namibia, Swaziland and Lesotho. Server-based computing software vendor 2X has struck a distribution agreement with value-added distributor Azlan for the Central Europe region. FVC extends Google distribution deal

Middle East value-added distributor FVC will add Google’s enterprise search products to its portfolio. FVC already distributes Google’s security and compliance offerings. IGEL signs UK distribution deal with IQ Sys

Thin client vendor IGEL has struck a distribution deal with IQ Sys – the leading Citrix distributor in the UK. IQ Sys has picked up five Citrix distribution awards in the last two years. The deal with IGEL means that IQ Sys will now stock and sell the vendor’s virtualisation-oriented universal desktop range. Read full story

Cyberoam signs up Comguard

Unified threat management (UTM) device vendor Cyberoam has struck another channel deal in the European market, naming Comguard as its national distributor for the Czech Republic and Slovakia. Private label distributors Smarthost and Groupspark are deploying new Micorosft-based services, enabling the reseller channel to expand their portfolio of hosted services and providing greater choices for resellers as they go to market with software plus services. Brightpoint streamlines European operation

NASDAQ-quoted wireless device distributor Brightpoint will cut between 275 and 325 operations in its European operation, as the company restructures and integrates recent purchase Dangaard into the wider organisation. Steen F. Pedersen – a Dangaard founder and current president of Europe at Brightpoint – will leave the company on November 19th 2008. Michael Koehn Milland, who will become president EMEA at Brightpoint, will replace Pedersen. Read full story
