Bell Micro adds Xrio

Specialist VAD Bell Micro has signed a UK distribution agreement with unified bandwidth management (UBM) provider Xrio. Under the terms of the deal, Xrio’s UBM hardware and software solutions will be made available to Bell Micro’s reseller base. Xrio reckons that its solutions will allow resellers to offer customers quick, effective and economical load balancing and bonding that delivers additional bandwidth. Read full story

Nvidia warns of sharp sales slump

Components vendor Nvidia has sharply lowered its sales forecast for the fourth quarter of fiscal 2009. Sales for the quarter are now expected to slide between 40% and 50% sequentially from the third quarter of fiscal 2009. Nvidia attributes the sales drop to further weakness in end-user demand and inventory reductions by channel partner in the global PC supply chain. Read full story

Blade sharpens European channel

Blade Network Technologies has struck a European agreement with VAD Bell Microproducts. Under the terms of the deal Bell will distribute Blade’s Gigabit and 10 Gigabit Ethernet (10GbE) RackSwitch product family throughout Europe. Blade operates in the data centre networking arena and will work with Bell to promote its RackSwitch product family. Read full story

Azlan rejigs European line-up

Azlan, the VAD unit of distribution giant Tech Data, has shuffled its European management team. Sean Kendrick has been appointed director of European marketing and SMB activation, while Uwe Stein has taken on the role of director software and solutions Europe. Distrilogie Group mops up Mambo

Distrilogie Group has acquired Spanish security and communications distributor Mambo Technology. The deal is the sixth European acquisition by Distrilogie - an IT infrastructure solutions distributor – since 2004. Distrilogie claims that its lates purchase forms part of its continuing drive for development through external growth. Read full story

Networks Unlimited blasts Websense

Networks Unlimited, a value-added networking and security distributor operating in sub-Saharan Africa, has publicly blasted former vendor partner Websense. Value-added distributor Westcon Middle East has struck a strategic distribution deal with data protection and security solutions provider SonicWall. Virtual Computer, a US-based vendor applying virtualisation technology to PC lifecycle management, has announced plans to expand into EMEA to take advantage of the global sales opportunity for its NxTop solution.
