Emerging markets distribution powerhouse Asbis has added Abbyy to its vendor portfolio in Russia. Abbyy offers document recognition, data capture and linguistic software. Under the terms of the deal Asbis will distribute Abbyy’s complete portfolio within the Russian federation.

FVC briefing centre gets DIC seal of approval
FVC played host to Malek Sultan Al Malek, executive director at Dubai Internet City (DIC), at a ceremony to inaugurate the value-added distributors technology briefing centre located at DIC. The new centre will allow FVC to showcase solutions from the vendors it represents inculding Google, TippingPoint, Packeteer, Barracuda, Proxim, VegaStream, Nokia, Vasco and Packet Design.

The awards, which recognised channel excellence in retailing Dell products in Saudi Arabia, was attended by a number of high profile companies from the Kingdom’s channel. Mindware is an authorised Dell distributor in Saudi Arabia.

Diskeeper boosts distribution channel
Defragmentation software player Diskeeper has extended its EMEA distribution network, signing up new partners in Israel and Romania. The deals with Trek IT in Israel and Romsym Data in Romania will extend availability of Diskeeper software in these territories. Diskeeper has sold more than 30 million software licences.

Central and Eastern European distribution powerhouse Asbis has strengthened its vendor portfolio in Romania, concluding an agreement with Philips to distribute the vendor’s monitors.
